Types of certificates and what they confirm:

The certificates below confirm that our beds have undergone a series of specialised tests and evaluations to verify their strength, stability and safety in use. Thanks to these, we know that our products meet current regulations and offer the highest level of protection. Our products are certified by a reputable institution: the Institute of Supervision.

Clean and safe varnishes

EN 71-3

Guarantees that the varnishes and other finishes used on the bed do not contain hazardous chemicals that could migrate and pose a risk to health, especially to children.

FSC Certificate (Forest Stewardship Council)

Confirms that the wood used in the production of our beds comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests, with respect for the environment and local communities. By choosing LANO, you support eco-friendly forestry.

Standard for bunk and high beds

PN-EN 747-1+A1:2015-08

Refers to the safety and strength of bunk and high beds (over 60 cm from the floor), with special focus on beds longer than 140 cm and up to 120 cm wide.

  1. Safe construction: All edges and corners are rounded, with no burrs or sharp parts.
  2. Strength of components: The bed is tested under vertical and horizontal loads to ensure that elements such as guard rails and bases do not break or deform. For example, guard rails are tested with a downward force of 1000 N (approx. 100 kg).
  3. Safe gaps and openings: Moving parts (e.g., folding frames) are designed for safety – distances between them are up to 7 mm or between 12–25 mm, preventing entrapment.
  4. Ladder stability: The ladder undergoes strict load tests, including a vertical static load of 1200 N (approx. 120 kg) on each step.
  5. User warnings: It is stated that bunk and upper beds are not suitable for children under 6 years of age. The instructions include other important safety notices.
  6. Mattress information: The maximum recommended mattress height is 12 cm.

Standard for low beds (close to the floor)

PN-EN 1725:2024-04

This standard includes requirements for the safety, strength, and durability of all types of beds.

  1. No sharp edges or burrs: All parts that users come into contact with during normal use must be free of burrs, sharp edges, or open ends.
  2. Safe moving mechanisms: If the bed includes moving parts (e.g., folding frames), the gaps between them must be safe – up to 7 mm or between 12–25 mm, to prevent entrapment.
  3. Stability: The bed is tested to prevent tipping, ensuring structural stability.
  4. Strength and durability: The bed undergoes static load tests, for example applying a force of 1400 N (approx. 140 kg) to critical points for 30 seconds.

Furniture for domestic use (applies to the SOFINO model)

PN-EN 12520:2015

This certificate confirms that the SOFINO model meets additional detailed requirements and is perfectly suited to everyday challenges in a home environment.

Furniture for commercial and general use (applies to the SOFINO model)

PN-EN 16139:2013

This is an extension of the PN-EN 12520:2015 standard and is crucial for the SOFINO model if it is to be used in high-traffic areas such as hotels. The difference lies in the significantly higher number of test cycles (for instance, the backrest is tilted 100,000 times). This confirms the bed’s enhanced strength and durability under intensive use, guaranteeing reliability even in demanding commercial environments.
